Dimitar Berbatov has revealed that he is happy at Manchester United and that he loves representing the club. Berbatov has found opportunities hard to come by this season at Old Trafford, primarily due to the form of Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez, however Berbatov has stressed that despite the lack of football he and his family are currently very happy with life in Manchester. He told MUTV, "I'm happy here, my family is together in Manchester. I hear people complain about the weather, there's nothing to do and the food. But, for me, it's not like that. I play for a club I love, the biggest club, and everything else doesn't matter." The Bulgarian forward also spoke about the first time he learned that United were interested in signing him through his agent Emil Danchev, "He called me to say we have interest from Manchester United. I said, 'Don't joke with me,' but he said he was serious. So I was speechless. When the biggest club contacts you, it's a big deal for me coming from a small country like Bulgaria," said Berbatov. With the fixtures coming thick and fast it is likely that Berbatov will start to feature for United more regularly in the near future as Sir Alex Ferguson looks to rotate his squad in order to keep everybody fresh. |
