Socceroos stalwart Dario Vidosic could make a return to the Adelaide United line-up in tonight’s crucial A-League fixture with rivals Melbourne Victory at Etihad Stadium.

The marquee signing, who had suffered a back fracture in the club’s 0-0 stalemate with the Newcastle Jets a fortnight ago, could make a quicker than anticipated return after recovering swiftly from an unusual injury.

With the Reds languishing near the bottom of the table and desperate to resurrect its tenuous season, the acquisition of Vidosic would aid its chances against the old enemy.

Adelaide’s playing stocks will also be bolstered with the inclusion of the 2010-11 A-League Golden Boot winner Sergio van Dijk, after recovering from a calf strain.

It was too early last week unfortunately, but van Dijk got through the training sessions very well this week. He's okay and will be in the starting eleven," Adelaide coach Rini Coolen revealed.

"Dario we were very happy to have return to training on Thursday, quicker than what we expected."

"We thought he would be out for another game and not able to come back until at least next week, but he did okay Thursday and there was no negative reaction."

"We know he can be available and play part of the game, so if he's okay after Friday's training then he will definitely travel with us and be one of the 15 players tomorrow."
