A-League locks

The upcoming round of the A-League looks one of the easier betting rounds of the current campaign, with plenty of locks, starting tonight as the Newcastle Jets will easily take care of Gold Coast United at home. The best bet in this game is the Jets to win with a -1.0 handicap, so essentially by two goals or more, while the Jets/Jets half time/full time double at $2.10 looks superb value. Melbourne Heart will be out to continue their mini resurgence against the Wellington Phoenix, however my A-League value bet of the round is the visitors to win this one at odds of $3.25.

Archie Thompson to end his goal scoring drought and score at any time for the Melbourne Victory against rivals Sydney FC is at great value of $2.80, Harry Kewell at $3.20, while both teams to score in this one looks the way to go. Brisbane kick start the Sunday double header at home to Adelaide, in a game they will easily win. Last time they met at Suncorp it ended 7-1 in favour of the Roar, so expect a high scoring affair this time. Over 3.5 goals should be considered, while a roughie is Adelaide to score first and fail to win at $3.46. The final game sees Perth host Central Coast in a match that will definitely end in a draw, and at $3.40, make sure you take it.

Goals expected in EPL

There are a couple of big matches in the EPL this weekend, none bigger than the red hot Arsenal taking on Newcastle at the Emirates. The Gunners will win this game, don't be surprised if both teams score, and Robin van Persie will score first at odds of $3.20. Goals are certainly expected in the Everton-Tottenham clash at Goodison Park, so again both teams to score there. Tottenham to win at odds of $2.50 though is undoubtedly my EPL value bet of the round, as the Spurs looks to put a disappointing couple of matches behind them, with a few key players back in action.

While it is very unlikely that Manchester United will lose twice at Old Trafford in the space of only a few days, West Brom at $11 odds is outrageous, particularly considering they are in fine form, winning their last four games quite convincingly. Nevertheless, the best bet here is both teams to score, and Peter Odemwingie to score at any time for the Baggies at $3.60. West Brom to win or draw should be considered at $3.62.

In other matches, Sunderland should get the job done over Liverpool, but to be safe take them to win or draw at great value, Chelsea must win at home to Stoke in Roberto Di Matteo's first match in charge in the league, both teams are certain to score in the Wolves-Blackburn game, while Manchester City and Norwich will thump Swansea and Wigan respectively.

In Italy, do not be surprised if Chievo win against a struggling Inter Milan side in Verona, at odds of $2.62. The most likely outcome is a draw here, but the tip to bet on is both teams to score. Napoli will be held by Cagliari at the San Paolo, possibly 0-0, Palermo should be too strong for a depleted Roma at home in my Serie A value bet of the round at $2.50, while Udinese should win at bottom club Novara at $1.91. AC Milan will thump Lecce, while Fiorentina and Catania will both score in their clash in Sicily.

In Spain, Real Madrid at odds of $1.44 is the longest you will get them at, and incredibly they are playing only Real Betis, so include them in all bets. Villarreal look the goods to overcome Getafe at home, Barcelona likewise on the road to bottom placed Racing Santander, while Sevilla to win at odds of $2.10 is my La Liga value bet of the round against Sporting Gijon.

Elsewhere in Europe, Marseille will get the job done over a struggling Ajacco side in France, as will high flyers Montpellier. Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund will cruise in Germany, FC Utrecht are at exceptional value of $9 to win away to Feyenoord, but Ajax and Heerenveen are the locks in Holland, while you can pencil in Porto and Sporting Braga for victories in Portugal.
