Venezuela achieved a valuable result late into the second half to stun the local Uruguayan crowd with a 1-1 draw in South American World Cup qualifying played today. An 83 minute header from Salomón Rondón cancelled out Uruguay's opening goal scored by talismanic Diego Forlán putting away a chance in the first half. Forlán received a crisp perfect pass from Álvaro Pereira and slotted the ball into the back of the net with a right-footed shot from 10 yards much to the delight of the home crowd. The star of the match was Venezuela goalkeeper Renny Vega coming up with two particular saves. Just after 50 minutes, Vega denied Edinson Cavani and just shortly after blocking Diego Lugano. With this result, Venezuela is equal with Uruguay with 8 points. It was an attacking display by César Farías' men who caused plenty of havoc in Fernando Muslera's goal.
