Inter are confirming their interest in Manchester City defender Aleksandar Kolarov but they expect him to slash his wages by 50 per cent if he is to join them this summer, SoccerAnchor.com can reveal.

The former Lazio stopper is looking to depart the Premier League after falling behind in Roberto Mancini's pecking order at Eastlands.

Despite widespread reports claiming Inter had already established dialogue with the player, SoccerAnchor.com understands the Italians have yet to speak with his entourage, but have made it clear they will not match his €6million per annum wages.

A source told SoccerAnchor.com: "Inter want him and they are prepared to offer City up to €10million but the problem is wages, the player earns a lot."

Asked whether Inter had made Kolarov an offer over personal terms, the source added: "There has been no offer [to the player] but Inter will not offer more than €3m a season."

Kolarov is reportedly on €6m per annum at City, but Inter's reluctance break their €3m salary cap could force the defender to accept a wage cut as he looks for a route back into first team action.
