Former Juventus great Michel Platini believes Antonio Conte's men can recreate their golden age once they move into the new stadium.

Feet will hit the ground against Parma on Sunday when they arrive at the Juventus Arena for the first game of the season in Serie A, should matches go ahead following strike action in week one over a collective contract dispute between clubs and players.

Platini masterminded success in the 1985 European Cup final against Liverpool, and he feels the new venue will provide the team with the lift it needs following recent failures.

"Juventus can begin a new cycle starting from the new stadium. It seems very nice," Platini told reporters in Turin.

"The old Communale stadium had written history for 100 years and I hope another piece of history is written at the new stadium."

Asked whether Juventus were ready to start winning again, Platini said: "I believe so."

Kick-off against Parma is at 12:30 CET on Sunday.
